The 69th issue of Shodensha‘s OnBLUE boys-love magazine announced on Saturday that Takako Shimura and Michi Ichiho will be collaborating on a new series in the upcoming 70th issue of the magazine, set to be released on April 25.
Ichiho started the Yes, No, or Maybe? (Yes ka No ka Hanbun ka) boys-love light novel series with illustrations by Lala Takemiya in November 2014, which was published by Shinshokan in Japan. The English version of the series is being released by Seven Seas. The novel series was adapted into an anime that premiered at the BL FES!!-Boys Love Festival!!- in December 2020, with Crunchyroll streaming the anime.
Ichiho’s “Maо̄ no Kikan” (Return of the Demon King) short story was turned into a manga mini-series in 2021.

Shimura began the Awajima Hyakkei manga in Ohta Publishing‘s PocoPoco online magazine in July 2011, eventually moving to Ohta Web Comic. The manga’s fourth volume was released in August 2022, and it will conclude in the next chapter.
Shimura is most recognized for her Wandering Son and Sweet Blue Flowers manga, both of which have been adapted into television anime series in 2011 and 2009 respectively. She also provided character designs for the Aldnoah.Zero anime, Battery the Animation, and Overtake! racing anime. Shimura also created a short manga series based on the Battery novels. Her Wandering Son manga is being released by Fantagraphics Books in North America, while Viz Media is releasing Sweet Blue Flowers. Seven Seas is publishing her Even Though We’re Adults (Otona ni Nattemo) manga digitally and in print.
Shimura’s Happy-Go-Lucky Days (Dōnika Naru Hibi) manga was adapted into an anime film that premiered in Japan in October 2020.
