During the Anime NYC 2023 event, ANN was proud to provide coverage of the event sponsored by both Yen Press and Ize Press! Crunchyroll’s Anime NYC panel on Friday unveiled some exciting announcements. First, they announced a new anime based on Yaongyi’s True Beauty webtoon manhwa. Additionally, the company stated that it will stream the Delusional Monthly Magazine (Gekkan Mōsō Kagaku) original television anime and the television anime of Pom’s Senpai wa Otokonoko web manga. They also revealed premiere dates for the My Hero Academia UA Heroes Battle special anime and the second season for Tower of God. The anime based on Yaongyi’s True Beauty webtoon manhwa is set to premiere in 2024. Crunchyroll describes the story of Jugyeong, a girl who transforms herself with makeup and transfers to Saebom High School to escape her past of being bullied. The school is known for producing idols, actors, and influencers due to its unique tradition of anonymous voting for the school’s True Beauty goddess. The chosen student is scouted by entertainment agencies. Jugyeong quickly becomes the center of attention as the next goddess candidate and clashes with Sujin, the former two-time goddess. The English dub cast for Solo Leveling includes [TBD].
The Solo Leveling anime, based on writer Chugong and the late artist DUBU’s (REDICE Studio) manhwa, will debut in January 2024. The story follows Jinwoo Sung, a low-ranked hunter in a world of supernatural powers, who gets fatally injured and starts leveling up after accepting a mysterious quest.
Crunchyroll will begin streaming the Monthly Mōsō Science (Gekkan Mōsō Kagaku) original television anime in January 2024. The story is set in the town of Most City and follows the editorial department of Delusional Monthly Magazine, a science magazine featuring articles about shocking, bizarre events and inexplicable phenomena. The company will also stream the television anime of Pom’s Senpai wa Otokonoko web manga in 2024. It tells the story of Saki, a high school student who confesses her feelings to Makoto and discovers his secret, kickstarting a love triangle with Makoto’s childhood friend, Ryuji.
The second season for Tower of God is scheduled to debut in July 2024. It continues the story of Rachel, a girl who climbs the tower to see the stars, and Bam, the boy who joins her.
Lastly, Crunchyroll will air the My Hero Academia UA Heroes Battle special anime episode with English subtitles and an English dub on November 30.
